WLA Needs YOU!

Preparing students to be leaders tomorrow, requires they engage in the world today!  Washington Leadership Academy seeks individuals, community organizations, and businesses to work as partners with our students to prepare them for success beyond high school.

  • Internship: 11th grade students will engage in internships to develop the skills necessary for the 21st century workplace under the mentorship of a professional in the community. Interested professionals will provide students with professional guidance, work space and materials, as well as a project to help students gain insight into a particular career path.

  • Professionalism Days: Organizations will host groups of 25 students to give them feedback about their resumes and interviewing skills, as well as provide students the opportunity to practice networking with professionals.

  • Career Panels: Organizations will host groups of 10-25 students for a career panel with their employees. The panel will also include a discussion about specific tasks and scenarios unique to their workplace, so students can begin to visualize daily life in the particular career field.
